Who is responsible
This site is published by Thomas Jean-Pierre Keller (France), who is the data controller. For any question about your data, email tommy@backpocket.cc.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and no local storage. The only cookies are set by Cloudflare, the host, to protect the site from automated traffic. They are strictly necessary, so they need no consent and there is no cookie banner. The cookie policy lists them. Fonts are served from this site, so no request is made to Google or any other font provider.
What is collected and why
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. This is necessary to run the site (legitimate interest). Cloudflare keeps it for the periods set out inits privacy policy.
Visit statistics
I use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that uses no cookies and does not store IP addresses or build profiles. It records aggregate information: pages viewed, the referring site or link (for example a ?ref= tag on a link I sent), country, browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language, and clicks on the CV link, document downloads and contact links. This tells me which work is read and whether a link I shared was opened (legitimate interest). Umami does not know who you are. If you arrived through a link I sent you with a ?ref=tag, I can see that the link was opened, but not who opened it. Umami keeps this data for 6 months, on servers in the EU and the US. SeeUmami's privacy policy.
If you contact me by email, I use your name, address and message only to reply and, where relevant, to follow up on a job application or project discussion. I keep this correspondence for 12 months after our last exchange, and delete it sooner on request.
International transfers
Cloudflare and Umami may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where they do, they rely on recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Links to other sites
Some pieces link to their original publication, and the footer links to LinkedIn. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies once you visit them.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, receive a copy of it, and set instructions for what happens to it after your death. Email tommy@backpocket.cc and I'll reply within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, theCNIL, or the authority where you live.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
